A total of 49 people died, with 53 injured, in a targeted attack on the LGBT+ community. Described as ‘violent’ and ‘disturbed,’ the attacker was named by police as Omar Mateen – and in just three hours, he cut short the lives of lovers, dancers, care-givers, fathers and mothers…

Today, one year after the terrible tragedy, the world mourns the loss of those innocent and proud members of our community who wanted to do but one thing: live an open and free life.
