Since her transition Caitlyn Jenner hasn’t been overly popular in the LGBT community. She says that Ellen Degeneres is to blame for her not being embraced by the LGBT community.

Jenner writes, in her soon to be released book The Secrets of My Life, that Ellen Degeneres deliberately painted her as anti-gay by leaving out parts of their interviews. “I believed, as anyone would, that that was exactly what she wanted to talk about – my progression in terms of changing attitude over the years,” writes Jenner.

In the interview, on the Ellen Degeneres Show, Jenner said that she was not for same-sex marriage. “I thought, I’m a traditionalist. I’m older than most people in the audience. I kinda like tradition, and it’s always been a man and a woman. And I’m thinking, I don’t quite get it.”

Hover Jenner said her views had changed over time. “I don’t ever want to stand in front of someone’s happiness. That’s not my job. If that work ‘marriage’ is really, really that important to you I can go with it.” It was at this point in the interview that Degeneres asked Jenner about her lack of enthusiasm toward marriage equality.

Jenner now claims that her complete response to Degeneres had been cut from what aired on television and she believes this was done in order to help the interview go viral.

Meanwhile, Degeneres appeared on the Howard Stern Show where she talked about Caitlyn Jenner. “You’re wanting people to understand and accept you, and this is really confusing to people. And you still have judgement about gay people and marriage,” Degeneres said.

Degeneres went on to say that she doesn’t understand what Jenner is fighting for. “I don’t know her, and I’m trying to understand it because I don’t fully understand it either, but I also want everyone to be happy. I don’t fully understand all of that, but I want her to be happy, which is what I want for her, for me.”
