Letters included photos of posters that said ‘Next time you and your fag husband die’ and ‘God hates fags’

Matthew Lasner, a gay man whose husband confronted Ivanka Trump on a JetBlue flight last month, called police this week after getting suspicious hate mail.

The mail was sent to Hunter College on the Upper East Side campus where Lanser is a professor.

One of the letters contained a substance that was later tested and found to not be harmful, according to New York Daily News.

The letters also included photos of posters that said: ‘Next time you and your fag husband die’ and ‘God Hates Fags’ police tell the New York Post.

Lanser and his husband were ejected from a 22 December flight after Dan Goldstein reportedly said to the daughter of US President-Elect Donald Trump: ‘Your father is ruining the country!’

Goldstein then reportedly asked: ‘Why is she on our flight? She should be flying private.’

Trump was on the flight departing from John F. Kennedy Airport in New York with husband Jared Kushner, their three children and several other relatives. She remained calm and reportedly tried distracting her children with crayons and ignored Goldstein.

The incident instantly went viral because of tweets and a photo posted by Lasner.

There is also a push to get Lasner fired from the college.

As of Thursday, more than 62,000 people have signed a Change.org petition to have Lasner removed from Hunter College.

Brenden Bradley, who created the petition, wrote: ‘Someone like Mr. Lasner, who would harass a mother and her child simply trying to go about their day, does not deserve the honor of teaching.’
