As Donald Trump and Mike Pence set themselves to move into the White House on January 20th LGBTQ rights may come under the spotlight very quickly.

As Governor of Indiana, and Vice President-elect, Mike Pence is arguably one of the most anti-LGBTQ politicians ever elected. Last year he signed off on the anti-LGBTQ ‘religious liberty’ law which allows for discrimination against gay people. In addition to this he is on record as supporting ‘conversion therapy’ and has given a speech in which he said that marriage equality would lead to society’s collapse.

Trump himself didn’t go near queer issues consistently and meaningfully. If this trend continues and he lets Pence run the show it is likely that most, if not all, LGBTQ rights are under threat.
